The proposal for the white woman's appointment as a member of the incoming governor's cabinet has elicited mixed reactions, with some persons opining that she is not qualified for the position since she is not Nigerian.
However, in this article, it is argued that the Nwanyi Ocha can be given an appointment in Anambra State, due to the following reasons.
It is not Illegal
The appointment of Nwanyi Ocha for the post of Commissioner For Tourism Culture by the incoming government of Professor Soludo will not be against the law.

The Nigerian Constitution in Section 192 provides that the Governor of a state has the power to appoint a person as commissioner of his state, subject to confirmation by the House of Assembly of that state.
The Constitution further provides for qualifications for the position, stating that such a person must be a Nigerian citizen, be above 30 years old, etc.
In the current circumstances, Nwanyi Ocha being married to a Nigerian citizen, who is from Anambra State, is a Nigerian citizen by virtue of the marriage, which means that she can be made a Commissioner.
Her contributions to the Igbo culture
The way and manner Nwanyi Ocha has been promoting the Igbo culture and tradition is one that should be commended.

Even though she is not originally from Anambra State or Nigeria in general, the white woman has been using every opportunity to promote the culture of her husband.
She has proudly showcased the Igbo tradition in and outside Nigeria, learned the language, and taught their children the language too. Making sure that they and other Igbo children in the diaspora are proud of their heritage.
